Shrine

Sri Sarada Math, Bengaluru, Karnataka, is a branch of Sri Sarada Math, Dakshineswar, Kolkata

Sri Sarada Math was founded in 1954 based on Swami Vivekananda’s dream of establishing a spiritual organization for women where women are trained to become spiritually enlightened and work for the welfare of the world. The teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda provide the basis for the organization. With Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi, as the centre of inspiration, various spiritual and philanthropic activities are carried out in the spirit of

“Atmano Mokshartham, Jagat Hitaaya Cha” : “For one’s own liberation, and for the welfare of the world”.

The Bengaluru centre was established in 1975 and provides a serene atmosphere for people to engage in spiritual practices. The spiritual activities of the centre include regular worship, spiritual discourses, bhajan classes, Balamandir, observance of birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other prophets and saints. The philanthropic activities of the centre include Nivedita Vidyapeetha: a non-formal school for underprivileged children and a charitable dispensary. The Math has also taken up a rural development project at Junjaramanahalli, Tumkur District, Karnataka.

In addition to the Bengaluru center, Sri Sarada Math has another branch center in Karnataka at Chikmagalur.
